Thanks to diversity of flora and fauna and a dense network of hiking trails The National Park Malá Fatra is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Slovakia. Tourists often flock to the canyon called Jánošíkové diery, or come to scale the peaks of Rozsutec, Stoh or Tiesňavy. The ridge trail is one of the most engaging ones and will surely satisfy even the most weathered hikers. Families with children or less experienced hikers can choose one of the trails, or take a cable car up to the Snilovské saddle.
If you want to spend a night in the middle of the mountains, there are three cottages at your disposal – namely Cottage na Grúni, Cottage under Chleb, Cottage under Suchý.

Easy hiking and educational trails help you emerge even deeper into the beauty of this piece of country. The educational trail through the land of Jánošík reveals a bit about the history and the present of the village of Terchová. One of the marked stations stops at the birthplace of Juraj Jánošík in the hamlet called Jánošíkovci. During the walk you can enjoy many panoramic views of the Mala Fatra.
